SpinStar™ Extraction Kits

SpinStar™ Viral Nucleic Acid Kit

Simultaneous purification of viral nucleic acids (DNA and RNA) from fresh or frozen human serum and plasma, respiratory specimens in VTM and stool.

SpinStar™ Viral Nucleic Acid Kit ULTRA

Ultra sensitive purification of viral nucleic acids from 200 μl of fresh or frozen human serum and plasma, respiratory specimens in VTM and stool.

SpinStar™ Pathogen Nucleic Acid Kit

Specifically designed for efficient DNA and RNA purification from difficult-to-lyse pathogens as an upstream extraction kit for syndromic multiplex panels that include viral, bacterial and parasite targets in a single reaction.

SpinStar™ Total DNA Extraction Kit

Purification of total DNA (genomic, mitochondrial and of bacterial, viral and parasite origin) from whole blood, serum, plasma, respiratory specimen in VTM, sputum (pretreated) or stool suspension.

SpinStar™ VNAplus Mix

For concentration of viral DNA and RNA from 1 ml plasma or serum, prior to purification with the SpinStarTM Viral Nucleic Acid Kit.

SpinStar™ Procedure and Quality

The quality of the extracted nucleic acids has a profound impact on the performance, reliability and sensitivity of any molecular test. SpinStar™ Extraction Kits are developed in compliance with ISO 13485 specifically for the MDx downstream applications in ADT’s portfolio.

The SpinStar™ procedure comprises 4 steps (lyse, bind, wash, elute) and is carried out using SpinStar™ columns in a standard microcentrifuge. The procedure is designed to ensure that there is no sample-to-sample cross-contamination and allows safe handling of potentially infectious samples. The simple SpinStar™ procedure, which is highly suited for simultaneous processing of multiple samples, yields pure nucleic acid in approximately 1 hour.
